Thule Parts - Detail View
1. This vehicle comes with pre-set mounting points designed by the automobile manufacturer. Refer to Fit Kit/load carrier instructions for correct load carrier placement. 2. Installation of this Fit Kit requires the permanent mounting of four small fastening clips behyind the door's rubber weather stripping. 3. Bar spreads refer to different body styles. (2dr, 4dr, Wgn, Extd. Cabs) 4. Load carrier, with SRA, mounts on the front part of the roof over the doors. A 28" bar spread is possible in most cases. 5. Large carriers mount onto rain gutters over doors. 6. NOTE: Due to differences in automotive manufacturing and assembly, fit standards can vary from car to car within the same model. 7. A wider load bar spread can be achieved by installing Thule's 542 Artificial Rain Gutter Brackets, and using the 300 Foot Pack and appropriate load bars. 8. Because of pre-set mounting points, the load bar spread will not be wide enough to mount Thule Combi Boxes. 9. To maximize the spread between the load bars, the rear bracket has been designed to mount onto the top of the hatchback. 10. This load carrier has been specifically designed by Thule and Mitsubishi to work precisely with the unique track mount found on top of the Galant roof. The mitsubishi molding kit (#MZ540006) is required from a Mitsubishi dealer for proper installation of this load carrier. 11. Do not exceed vehicle manufacturer's recommended weight carrying capacity of 100 lbs. Make sure to tie down long loads such as sailboards, canoes and kayaks both at the front and rear bumpers. A T-25 Torx wrench is required for Taurus and Sable wagon application. 12. Identify fastening clips found inside the rain gutter channel. Position foot mounts so that they do not sit on top of the fastening clips. Load carrier should be mounted over front and rear doors only. 13. Clearance between back of foot and edge of roof will be at a minimum. Install carrier carefully. 14. Thule recommends mounting the load carriers onto the rain gutters over the front doors, not to the rain gutters found on the fiberglass top. 15. Factory installed roof racks that are mounted at the edge of the roof will prohibit the use of the recommended load carrier. 16. This application will work on hard panel T-tops only, not glass T-tops. 17. This application is for skis only. (Four Pair maximum) 18. The 542 Artificial Rain Gutter Brackets require drilling mounting holes in the roof. Thule recommends that a qualified auto body shop install the brackets. 19. The Railing carrier is recommended for use on factory racks with bars that run parallel to the sides of the vehicle (front to rear). Refer to vehicle's recommended weight carrying capacity for the factory rack. 20. This vehicle may experience water leakage with the use of the recommended load carrier and Fit Kit. Remove the load carrier when not in use. 21. Brackets must be mounted over the front doors only. A bracket can not be mounted on the rear doors. 22. This Fit Kit has been specially designed by Thule and Honda to work precisely with the recessed mounting points found behind the internal rubber gasket. Locate the mounting points by pressing with thumbs against the rubber. The gasket should be gently pulled back at these points and the bottom of the bracket mounted into the recessed mounting point. Firmly press gasket back in place after load carrier is mounted. 23. This load carrier has been specially designed by Thule and Volkswagen to work precisely with the unique roofline of the Jetta, Golf, and GTI. This carrier should not be used on any other vehicle and no other rack should be substituted for it. 24. 25. 26. Due to the weight carrying capacity of this roof top, Thule recommends carrying only skis or two bikes. 27. The flexible body filler found in the raingutter channel may deform with the use of the recommended load carrier. 28. The 566 Standard Upright Bicycle Carrier can not be used on those vehicles with load bar spreads less 27". 29. 30. Load carriers should not be mounted on vinyl roofs, this may affect your bar spread. 31. Bracket mounts in the seam between the edge of roof and rubber weather srtipping. 32. Due to the minimal clearance between load bar and roof the 516, 528, and 580 Combi Boxes can not be used. The 600, 601, 615, 627, 629, 631, 635 and 637 car top boxes are compatible. Some larger ski bindings may contact the roof with the use of 697/698 horizontal ski carriers. 585/586 angled ski carriers should be used. 33. It is important to keep firm pressure on the bottom of the bracket during load carrier installation. 34. Tracket applications are for moderate weight loads. Thule recommends carrying only 2 bikes, skis, or light weight cargo using the Thule Luggage Basket. Do not exceed the recommended weight carrying capacity of the factory rack. 35. This 404 load carrier is designed with two different length bars; one for the front (longer) and one for the rear (shorter). Please follow mounting instructions carefully. 36. This fit application has a 66 lb. load limit. Do not exceed the recommended weight capacity. 37. This fit application has a 110 lb. load limit. Do not exceed the recommended weight capacity. 38. This fit application has a 130 lb. load limit. Do not exceed the recommended weight capacity. 39. This fit application requires specific mounting positions which may be incompatible with the hole patterns on some luggage boxes. Additional holes may be drilled in the bottoms of the 615, 635, 627, 629, 631, 637, 600, 601, 604 to correct for the specific bar spreads. If the 516, 528, 580 are incompatible, no additional holes can be added to these boxes. 40. Due to low sales, Thule will discontinue this kit when inventory is depleted. Check availability with Thule before closing retail sales. 41. Due to limited space between the car roof and railing, the 415 must be installed toward the center of the rail and moved forward. 42. The 441 Rack comes complete. Fit Kit is not required.
