Shimano XT QR Seatbolt

SHIMANO DEORE XT QUICK RELEASE SEAT BOLT

The XT seat bolt is made largely of Chrome plated steel with an aluminum alloy nut. The lever and internal cam are cast as a single steel piece, chrome plated, and bent at the point where it exits the cam assembly. The lever/cam piece is held in place using an internal cir-clip. The lever itself has a firm plastic sleeve surrounding it, which is easy on your fingers, while giving a positive feel. The housing for the cam assembly is cast steel, which is chrome plated. There is a steel spring and a shaped washer, also chrome plated, to even the tension as the lever is tightened. The steel threaded rod is cadmium plated. The nut is machined aluminum, with a plastic insert at the outside end to prevent the nut from loosening up. The nut has a recess cut around it, with a rubber O-ring installed in it for fingertip grip. The largest distance the XT seatpost bolt will close on is 36mm, the smallest distance it will close on is 17mm. The skewer may be shortened by marking and cutting the extra threaded rod length, then cleaning up the threads with a file afterward. Weighing 79 grams, the Shimano XT bolt is available only in Chrome with Black accents. Made in Japan. $ Price in Catalog
