WRS SPORTS ULTRASOFT CLASSIC SADDLE PADS

The WRS Sports Saddle Pad provides a path for you to upgrade your present non- gel saddle to a gel cushioned one. The pad fits over and around the saddle and has two drawstrings with a nylon retainer clip, to secure it firmly to your saddle. The pad is made with a durable 4-way stretch nylon bonded to neoprene over an inner core of WRS/Spenco BIOSOFT Gel. This pad provides superior cushioning against road shock and vibration thereby increasing riding comfort. It is available through us in three styles. The Ultra-lite model is for professional style racing seats. There is also two mountain bike saddle covers, Narrow, which fits standard Mens and Womens touring type saddles and Medium, which fits the wider ATB or Comfort style saddles. Consult saddle table for pad sizes, and compare to what you have presently. Available in Black, weights listed in table.

SELLE ITALIA SADDLE COVER

The Selle saddle cover is made of a single piece of waterproof stretch Lycra. The outer surface is the grained Lycra fabric, with the inner surface rubberized. The saddle cover will protect your leather covered from rain and foul weather, leaving your leather still soft. The cover is also used by riders to add a dash of color and personality to their bike, the cover is available in Black or White. It's held in place on your saddle by a sewn on elastic bottom. We've found that some riders also use this cover, to disguise and make look like new, saddles that cosmetic imperfections from a previous crash. It weighs a negligible 13 grams, and fits Racing styled saddles only.

TRICO SPORTS MEMOFLEX SADDLE PAD

Trico Sports makes a gel based saddle pad for use on Road or Mountain bikes. The saddle pad is made of an elastic polymer that has a tissue like feel, so it "gives" in the areas your body makes contact with. The polymer compound used by Trico Sports is said to not break down over time. Holding it's shape, means the desired cushion will always be where you want it. Unlike other seat pads, this pad is not enclosed in a cloth cover and held to the saddle with drawstrings. The molded polymer has a sticky, tacky feel and lays directly onto your saddle, covering the top and the sides of the saddle, with it's Black tissue-like gel. The gel padding is then covered with a Black Lycra cover that snugly draws around the gel pad holding it tightly to the saddle, with a zipper on the underside that closes from front to back, making it even more snug. The pad cover can be replaced by any other saddle cover because they all fit similarly. Available in Black only, the Trico Memoflex pad and Lycra cover weigh 479 grams.

In-depth Information About Metals

Aluminum
Aluminum is extracted electrolytically from bauxite ore. It is made by the electrolysis of aluminum oxide which is found in larger concentrations within bauxite ore. Bauxite is a mixture of the hydroxides of aluminum, together with other impurities such as oxides of iron, titanium, and silicon. Bauxite is produced by the weathering and change of aluminum silicate rocks usually found in tropical and semitropical regions where climate has produced an accelerated weathering process. Bauxite is not a rare ore and is widely available in the US, the Caribbean, and Europe. Approximately 4 pounds of read the full article...

Beryllium
Beryllium is a specialty metal that is steel-grey metal in color, with an extremely low density, making it very light weight. At 1.85 grams to the cubic centimeter, its density compares to that of magnesium. It is also a high strength metal, making it possible to design light weight, thin membered parts with ahigh stiffness. A column made of beryllium to support a load placed directly downward on top of it, will have a greater load carrying capacity, and be lower in weight than any other metal of equal size.

Until the 1950's beryllium was used read the full article...

Titanium
The element titanium was discovered in 1763 by an English cleric, William Gregor who was an amateur chemist with an inquiring mind. It was in the black sands of Cornwall that he discovered the new element that had up to that time, attracted little scientific interest. A few years later, an Austrian, Klaproth, extracted the same element from an ore widely known as "rutile", which is a mineral consisting of titanium dioxide (one titanium atom, two oxygen atoms), that is a reddish-brown substance with a slight metallic luster. While rutile is the highest grade read the full article...

Metallurgic Hardness Testing
There are three types of tests used with accuracy by the metals industry, they are the Brinell hardness test, the Rockwell hardness test, and the Vickers hardness test. Hardness is the property of a metal which gives it the ability to resist being permanently deformed (bent, broken, or have its shape changed), when a load is applied. The greater the hardness of the metal, the greater resistance it has to deformation. Since the definitions of metallurgic ultimate strength and hardness are rather similar, it can generally be assumed read the full article...
